Sometimes you just want to break things and that's why video games are such a great outlet for that, especially with a title like Bricks Breaker Deluxe. This is because "break" is right there in the title so you know what to expect. You're going to a neon rave sign to play a game with glowing balls, glowing blocks, glowing numbers, and glowing diamonds. If there aren't things glowing then you've stumbled into the wrong place. Launch everything you have across the sign to break everything and hold onto whatever you can so that you can keep on breaking bricks.
About Bricks Breaker Deluxe
Once again, we must look back to Atari and remember the popular Breakout game that has been remade, revived, and recreated in numerous ways. This game is quite clear that it's inspired by the classic title but wants to add more flair to it. Not just with all the neon lighting but a lot of the mechanics and gameplay elements that we've come to expect in modern gaming. Things like achievements and currency for power-ups are commonplace nowadays and can be very helpful in making you more effective at breaking things. This is a chance to prove that you can break things efficiently.
How to Play
Bricks Breaker Deluxe is a 2D breakout-style game that can be played using only the mouse. The cursor is used to navigate the menu and game UI while the Left Mouse Button is used to make your move. On the game screen, click and hold the circle at the bottom and drag it around to choose your trajectory then let go to launch the balls. The goal of each level is to clear out all the bricks on the screen in as few moves as possible.
Each level will load an arrangement of bricks that descend after every one of your shots. You start off with a set number of balls that will fire all at once in a line. They will bounce and ricochet off the sides of the level and the bricks themselves until they return to the bottom of the screen. Each brick has a number in it that indicates how many times it needs to be hit before it's destroyed. When all the bricks are destroyed, the level will be complete and you'll earn additional rewards based on the star meter at the top of the screen.
The main reward is diamonds which can be used for buying things like additional balls and revives in a level. You'll also have access to different power-ups like the purple balls scattered around the level that will grant you extra balls on contact. To the sides of the sliders, you'll have limited power-ups which will increase your ball count or make them more powerful. If you want an endurance challenge, you can select Endless Mode instead of Levels Mode to see how many bricks you can break before you lose.
Tips and Tricks
This game shares elements with Pool in that it's all about angles. The trajectory tool is useful and accurate so look carefully. If you can aim a shot that allows the balls to bounce on the tops of bricks, this is ideal and a great way to whittle down their numbers.
