You can learn a lot about a country by learning about the types of events they like to host like the running of the bulls in Spain which is the main reference of Extreme Pamplona. The event is pretty self-explanatory: Some bulls are released onto the streets and you need to run away from them and not get butted. You're a lone runner who has decided to take this event to the next level by running through crowded streets filled with many obstacles and taking your running skills across various countries. How long can you keep ahead of all the bull?
About Extreme Pamplona
It makes sense to make a running game based on a running event that actually exists and then modify it a bit. This game is the running of the bulls but turned into a fast-paced platformer. It challenges you to keep moving and react quickly to reach the end of the level. You'll constantly be chased by something or someone and you need to ensure that nothing that gets in your way will slow you down too much. Thankfully, you're far more athletic than you might think and so the goal is within reach, you just need to run and jump smoothly for it.
How to Play
Extreme Pamplona is a 2.5D platform runner about running away from numerous forces using the keyboard.
Controls
- Right Arrow - Run Right
- Left Arrow - Run Left
- Spacebar/Up Arrow - Jump
The goal is to reach the end of the running trail without being caught by whatever is chasing you. You'll always start on the left side of the screen and drop onto the path. The one chasing you will gradually catch up if you move too slowly and if they do, you'll need to retry from the start.
When you start running, you'll get a brief view of what's chasing you so you know what you need to avoid. As you run, various obstacles will appear in your path that can have numerous effects. Some will simply act as barriers while others can be used as platforms to reach new heights and a few can be bounced on to send you flying and keep your momentum going. When you reach the end of the run, you'll get the chance to choose which country to go to and what kind of run you'll be undertaking.
Tips and Tricks
As long as you keep moving, you won't have too many problems to worry about, but obstacles that slow you down should be jumped through as quickly as possible. For the platform-heavy runs, you may need to be more precise than fast otherwise you'll keep making mistakes.
