About Papa Louie

It's unclear whether Papa Louie is a better chef or a better businessman, but it looks like his resume is still growing. This game lets him add "adventurer" to his resume which you'll need to expand upon with platforming skills. This is one of the most arcade-like Papa games out there which can be a nice change of pace from making all those different kinds of foods. It's all about running, jumping, collecting, and fighting to finish the levels. It's not as hard as some other kinds of platformers, but it's still easy to mess up if you rush or mistime some things.

How to Play

Papa Louie is a 2D platform game about exploring levels and fighting pizzas using just the keyboard.

Controls

Left Arrow - Move Left

Right Arrow - Move Right

Down Arrow - Pick Up/Put Down Pizza

Spacebar - Jump (Hold to Glide)

Z - Paddle Attack

X - Throw Pepper Bomb

The goal of each level is to defeat the pizza monsters and then deliver the pizzas to the customers at the end. All of your stats and the level elements are shown at the bottom of the screen. Your health is indicated by hearts and if you lose all of them, you'll need to restart the level.

When the level starts, you'll spawn on the left side and will have to make your way to the right. You'll be able to gain momentum and start running. Most enemies you encounter can be defeated by hitting them with the pizza paddle. Pizza monsters are more resilient and require you to hit back their cheese projectiles to defeat them. You can also collect and throw pepper bombs to defeat them and other weapons. Defeated pizza monsters become regular pizza and you need to collect them all and deliver them to the counterweight at the end to free the customers. When carrying pizza, you can't attack or glide, and taking damage will cause you to drop them.

You can also collect coins and bonuses for additional rewards outside of the level. This can be used to buy more items like pepper bombs.

Tips and Tricks

Papa can build up speed quite fast so be cautious that you don't accidentally run into enemies that suddenly appear. There's also a chance that multiple enemies will share the same area and try to split your focus. Pepper bombs are best saved for pizza to clear them out quickly and safely.
